Take some time to unwind
this holiday season with staff from Literacy
Green Bay. Tutors will have the opportunity to
ask questions of staff and to visit with each
other at this informal in-service.

New Books Added to the Tutoring Library
Common Core Basics
is a new Pre-GED series for
students who are reading at a 6th-8th grade
reading level. We have Science, Math, Social
Studies, Reading and Writing Common Core Basics
is a new workforce textbook
which covers communication with supervisors and
co-workers, understanding paychecks, customer
service, leadership, teamwork and more. This
would be a great book to supplement your lessons
Writing to Others
is a short 10 lesson textbook that covers
"Common Types of Written Communication."
For example it covers how to write a note,
letter, e-mail, invitation, application resume,
and more. This would also be a great book
to supplement your studies with.
Teaching Adults We have Teaching Adults: A
Literacy Resource Book, Teaching Adults: An ESL
Resource Book, and Teaching Adults: A 2014 GED
Test Resource Book. These
books are reference books for the tutors and it
provides easy to use, hands on activities that
you can turn around and use with your students.
a Fact Matters book that is a reading level 4.
If your student is bored with the fiction
novels, this would be an interesting book to
read. It is a 28 page book that covers a quick
basis of the different aspects of biology.
Flip Perspective shows two different
side of the American Revolution in one book.
It is at a reading level 4 as well.
Eleanor Roosevelt A
Courageous Spirit is the
biography of this famous First Lady. It is
a reading level 5.
